Video on European Migrant Crisis
This is just a video presented by John Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight, a talk show that focuses on currents events and issues. In this segment, he talks about the European Migrant Crisis in Europe, and how many European responses (especially from people in positions of political power) are disgraceful. Although this video is, at times, much more humourous that an average news report, I think that his humour and hard truths (that are often glazed over in more serious news reports) impact the point that he is making, as well as the severity of the issue at hand. I believe that the points he is making are very vaild, and I really appreciate how he is addressing this problem with the attention that it deserves.
Migration Terms
Our first activity in the migration topic was to define key terms relating to the migration unit. Click on image for document.
The second activity was, as a class, we identified key type of migrants, and various pros and cons of migration. Click slide for whole presentation on migration typology.
Migration Typology Presentation
In this activity, we were assigned one slide in a presentation that focuses on migration typology. In pairs or individually, we found points and statistics about our specific aspect of migration. We focused on the pros of migration on the host loaction (the destination of the migrants), and included past examples of this.

Kenya Migration Report Infopics
In this activity, we were assigned one aspect of Kenyan Migration. We were then given the Kenyan Migration Report (click here for document). After reading our sections in the report, our task was to condense the information, and put all of the key details of our areas onto an infopic.

Video on Facts and Myths of Immigration
This is just a short video that mentions a lot of common misconceptions about modern immigration, as well as the facts of the matter at hand. I think it contains some relevant and helpful statistics and data on immigration in the world today, particularly in the US.
